the IRLI board

With the possibility that my daughter and I might need to take turns having this project accessible at our desks, and in an attempt to not have it strewn about the house, we made a thing.

This will not only keep everything self-contained, but allow for connections to computer and power to be quick and easy, and also make it simple to clip on work lights or new sensors or anything else we might need.

At the moment it’s mostly pegboard and 1/4” 20-thread bolts and nuts. A few other bits of hardware. Picture hanging wire and protective rubber feet for the back. And velcro straps to hold some things in place.

Current problems / questions / next steps:

• Best layout for the LEDs to be able to identify successes, failures, and patterns?
• What about a simple, neat-and-clean way to hold the LEDs in place—like a top layer of posterboard with evenly spaced and labeled holes for the lamps to poke through?
• Create a bit more raised mounting space for additional power unit and other accessories.
• The picture hanging wire currently rests up against the back of the board, making it tricky to hang up.
